Aušra Urbanavičiūtė is one of the most creative, talented and conceptual designers in Lithuania. Aušra’s designs have been featured on the catwalk at Mados Infekcija “Fashion Infection”, (the equivalent of London Fashion Week). The prominent annual 3-day fashion festival is held in Lithuania’s capital of Vilnius.
Aušra has joined Leaping Toads’ team to teach students about fashion design from first-hand experience. The phenomenon of fashion is not only to showcase well-dressed individuals, but also to monitor and understand the interest in the world around us.

For the Lithuanian tales we study at Leaping Toads, we consider the characters, think how we can handle the situations, empathise with the actors and discuss how to avoid possible problems. Children do not just listen to these tales but also have the possibility to act them out with authenticity, understanding and enthusiasm.

On October 10th 2010, His Excellency the Ambassador of Lithuania, Mr Oscar Jusys visited our school, accompanied by Minister-Counsellor Mr Ernest Grabazis, to mark the occasion of the first two, three and eight-year olds to have completed their studies.

On 11th March 2010, our school opened the British Lithuanian Basketball League’s first “Stars’ day” by performing a “children’s anthem” to guests, participants and spectators at Sydney Russell Sports Centre in Dagenham, East London.

Leaping Toads received a visit from London-based Book illustrator, Egle Gelažiūtė – Petrauskienė who is part of the creative workshop “Migrating Birds”. She told students how she entered the profession of working in illustration, shared the creative process and the fun oddities of this day-to-day activities.
