‘Cambridge English’ course for adults on Monday and Wednesday evenings. These ESOL classes are run according to the Cambridge English Examination Board.

The programme was set up by Cambridge University to improve the English language skills of non-mother tongue speakers, for work and increased employment opportunities, study and everyday life.

The Cambridge English Certificate at the end of the course is globally accepted by employers and universities (recognised by over 15,000 organisations worldwide) and also by the UK Government Home Office for Visas etc

Leaping Toads warmly welcomes and introduces the teacher of the course, Anne Cordery.

Anne is known by us for over 25 years. She is a very warm, friendly and lively personality.

Anne has been teaching in the English education system as a qualified teacher for 25 years.

She is a qualified head teacher (having attained her NPQH qualification) and has been a Deputy Head Teacher in the UK.

Anne is part of the Leadership Team of a school in Essex and is responsible for raising the achievement in English. She is also an examiner.

Anne has a very broad experience in teaching at a range of schools, located in both affluent areas as well as the challenging inner city of London.

Anne has a BA in European Studies from Queen Mary College (University of London) and a Master’s degree in Hispanic Studies from Birkbeck College (University of London) where she specialised in comparative linguistics.
As well as teaching English, Anne also teaches Spanish and French. Before commencing her extensive teaching career in the UK, Anne also taught English abroad.

About the course:

The course at Leaping Toads is suitable to persons with all levels of English, as each person will be taught for the appropriate Cambridge English level and will work towards the Cambridge English certificate which is appropriate to them.

• The course is a total of 48 teaching hours for £375.

• Childcare is available for £5 per hour.

• 2 sessions per week: Monday and Wednesday evening.

• Each session is 2 hours (18:30 – 20:30 hours).

• Teaching materials are provided.

• The course covers all four language skills (Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking) and knowledge of grammar and vocabulary.
