Leaping Toads already has its own radio show, “The Curious Frog” aired to several thousand listeners around the world.
The show is fun, educational and unique in that our eight years old students living in London are the key contributors. Our broadcasts feature the voices of our two- to ten-year-olds who read Lithuanian the texts of Lithuanian writers, recount Lithuanian folk tales, sing and teach songs and interview the show’s guests (adults may speak by invitation only, as guest speakers.)
You can tune into our programme, wherever you are around the world. To listen and for more information click here.
For those who have not heard about the radio station on which our programme airs to Lithuanian children around the world, we present the following web radio, which was set up and sincerely developed by Ms Lidija Maciuniene.
Broadcast from Tytuvėnai, this radio station has an online platform enabling children around the world to tune in. As a result, programmes do not begin or end with the traditional greetings of “good morning” or “good evening” as our morning in the UK could be late evening for children the other side of the world.
The radio has been active since July 2012 and currently has several thousand regular listeners around the world listening to Lithuanian songs, fairy tales, poems, children’s news and doing photo competitions from the UK, Israel, England, Ireland, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Russia, France, Spain, Cyprus, Turkey. In one year the station connected 22,000 listeners globally. A live broadcast is planned from next year.
“Our goal is to continue providing – cheerful music, interesting shows, self-expression competitions and more. From 2014 we will begin a series of broadcasts entitled “I am learning to live” – a motivating, developmental show with the aim of helping children orientate themselves in this world, learn to live without stress and anger, develop their creativity, sincerity and friendliness and learn to accept everything that is happening around them with love; to build confidence; to dream and to learn to achieve their goals”, comments Lidija.

“We report only positive information, which radiates warmth to children, talking of their peers’ achievements and hobbies, funny stories from the lives of animals, fashion, mischief of nature, interesting people, a healthy lifestyle for children and other interesting information. We publish three of them every day”.
Lidija’s little helpers Simona, Ieva, Lukas assist her to produce the radio shows: little Ieva sets the call sign, Simona reads they daily news, and son Lukas also helps his mum to create the children’s radio.
