Four-year-olds enjoy a civilised afternoon tea and discuss science and occupations

The new academic year started with new and significant works. We will not disclose the secret of what we are currently undertaking, however we know you will certainly not fall asleep at our next performance! We would be happy to share with you what we did in our previous school year:

And now… for your attention – we present summer science experiments from our last academic year by our four-year-olds:
Three years ago, in 2010, we debuted our first educational video project about the Battle of Grunwald. Since then, it has successfully been used in the lessons and here are the results.

We discussed the historical events and did scientific tests as well. All children particularly liked to be the chemists, not only curiously looking at each of the materials but also measuring and pouring them into the flasks and dishes and waiting to find out what reaction would occur.

We were interested in the occupations our pupils will choose when they grow up. We heard all kinds of possibilities and aspirations from: being a dancer to joining the police force, but the most popular were donut bakers and shopkeepers… We became acquainted with other interested varied occupations including forester, artist, engineer, architect, explorer, doctor, confectioner and others.

– What do you call someone who paints and draws all kinds of pictures?

– “A painter” replied Mija confidently.

We continued to discuss occupations and a curious question was raised:

– “who designs bridges, maybe an engineer?”

– “My dad is building small houses and sometimes I help him too,” said Oriana.

The pupils’ newly acquired knowledge relates to their experiences as they learn through creation

Although our four-year-old children are they are still very young Lithuania is already important and interesting to them and when asked children can tell you lots about the country with enthusiasm.
